Torridon, Sept'13

Richard was out for three days in Torridon with Charles and Helen who were over from Northern Ireland. Here's a brief tale of the days.

On our first day we enjoyed a fabulous blue sky, sunshine and wonderful views as we traversed the peaks of Beinn Alligin including a wee scramble over the horns of Alligin. It was a surprise to meet a ptarmigan hiding behind the summit cairn mind you! The deer were roaring away in the glens though we didn't spot any battles they were too well camouflaged!

On our second day we traversed Liathach in cloud with bright weather above. This meant no views till we descended out of the cloud. The rock was a little damp, but we enjoyed a good route over the rocky pinnacles and ridges safely negotiating Am Fasarinen. It was a surprise to descend into warm sunshine in the glen though!

We enjoyed a very atmospheric day on Beinn Eighe as the sun broke through the clouds and even treated us to some views of the quartzite ridges in every direction. It was a hot walk and we made sure the streams were visited on route to stay hydrated. It was a fantastic few days out in the hills with good company and plenty of banter!
