Martin McDermott guided a group of 4 people along the Aonach Eagach on Sunday. Here's his write-up for the day, enjoy !
We met up at the Am Bodach carpark and according to the weather forecast we could expect all sorts during the day except wind. Off we went Douglas and Lone from Dunblane and two friends Bruce and Billy. All experienced munroists.
We got to the top of Am Bodach in good time and the threatening weather held off but we could see isolated snow showers falling on the distant hills all around. Being a bank holiday weekend we didn't have the ridge to ourselves.
After the first lunge down from Am Bodach we all knew what to expect for the rest of the day. And so went along at a steady speed carefully picked our way over the obstacles. The weather always on our side the rock was dry and the sky bright.
At the far end we met Hamish from Glasgow perhaps the only three legged terrier to complete the Aonach Eagach Traverse!
We descended back down to the Clachaig Inn to re-hydrate.
Our next trip is in early June, details here soon !
