Curved Ridge, Buachaillie Etive Mor, March'12

After meeting at the King’s House, Andrew and Jim headed over to Lagangargh, and the easy 45min walk in under the gulleys and ridges of the Buachaille North face. So much to do, and only one day to play with! The weather was initially misty, but warmed up nicely when we had got higher up Curved ridge. The route is a grade 2/3 scramble, and we opted to move together with coils of rope tied off on ourselves, putting in slings and the odd walnut to protect ourselves. On a couple of the more awkward steps, Jim belayed Andrew up the difficulties.

Views from the ridge are spectacular, we could see right across Rannoch moor as far as Schiehallion, but on reaching the summit about 5 hours later (we did’nt rush it!), the mist had come back in, so we did not see the views from the top. Andrew and I had just sat down for a brew on the top, when Steven appeared out of the mist, and we all descended down the main gully back to the car.
