Newtonmore Navigation, Mar'11

Two days spent in the Monadh Liath above Newtonmore learning new navigating techniques, 6 hardy folk braved thick snow and mist. Eagle View Guest House owners were our host for this interesting weekend where folk were also surprised by ptarmigan in their winter plumage, hares bounding across the moor and huge cornices overlooking dark coires. We also found that some things on the map and land didn't correspond - "never rely on man-made features, always rely on contours first, natural handrails second" was the main realisation !
