Yesterday evening saw me taking part in the Ben Sheann hill race near Strathyre. A new, slightly longer route had been devised to avoid tree felling. Tussocky, steep, very rough and with no road-running, this new route is brilliant fun, even better than the old route. The hills of Ben Ledi and Stuc a'Chroin were bathed in a wonderful pastel light, but no time to check out the views, just bound back down through the forest ! I came in 2nd overall and 1st vet, so won a bottle of 12yr old Glenfiddich ! If you're intending to walk up this little hill in the near future, please note that the main path up has been close due to forest operations.
