A new hill race for 2009, taking in two munros.
The very first time I came in contact with a hill-runner would be way back in 1990 when I first did Meall na Teanga and Sron a'Choire Ghairbh. I was amazed at the pace of the guy and how he could run uphill. It was kinda fitting that the race route today more or less went up the same route as back then - from the waterfall 'Witches Pool', through the forest, to the ruin at Fedden and up onto the munros. A fine day with clear tops and not too hot made for perfect running conditions through the forest and up onto the hills. The race was won by Andy Symonds and I was more than happy with 10th, having been re-passed by team-mate Jon as we headed back onto the flat in the forest. Results are here and the organiser's report is here.
