Gypsy Glen, Peebles, 13 May'09

James Britton showing how to sprint downhill Sometimes it's more enjoyable to watch a race than take part. This is particularly the case when in fine weather and with soft views to take in over rolling hills. Just like this evening, when around 60 runners took part in the Gypsy Glen hill-race on the south side of Peebles. We walked through the glen, up the hill and ended up behind a wall, sheltering out of the breeze. Not long after settling down, the runners started heading past, the first three creating a fair gap between themselves and the chasing pack. As the last of the runners past, the leaders re-appeared in a different order for the fast descent. The race was won by Al Anthony. Photos on my Flickr page.
