A day off annual leave and up north to Torridon. I went for a quick jaunt up Liathach to remind me of the Am Fasarinen Pinnacles, but the mist came in and only managed the first two before taking the by-pass path. With more boot traffic, this path is getting more scary as errosion is dramatically wearing down the two exposed narrow sections that turn into the mountain's heart. Further down, the NTS are doing a great job of repairing and constructing paths.
After Liathach, my first trip up Beinn Damph - a much hyped corbett on the southern side of Loch Torridon. Yes, the views are excellent, a well constructed path takes walkers in, a fine waterfall can be viewed on the way up and a summit cairn perched above an exposed drop gives stunning panoramas. You've just got to endure the continuous boulderfield above c600m !
